With the huge popularity of social networking on the web at the moment, there are new ventures and start ups springing up all over the place, all vying for a slice of the publics attention. Facebook is clearly the big player and other social networks are trying to emulate it, if not in terms of format, then certainly in terms of success.
As social grows into an ever larger beast, businesses will be forced to pay more attention to it as this is where their audiences hang out and talk about your brand. For businesses however this could be huge news, one true fan allows businesses to gauge not just how much their site is visited, but who is visiting their site. Obviously this will not give a totally accurate picture but they will have a much better idea about it.
One true fan is a clever concept and one that could prove incredibly valuable to users and businesses alike. It is used by installing a tool bar which can automatically check in to sites, or users can set it to manual if they so wish, in the name of privacy.
